Applications Now Open for 2026 Future Docs Program

High school and undergraduate students interested in exploring a career in medicine are invited to apply for the 2026 Future Docs Summer Program, hosted by the Chattanooga Medical Society and Medical Foundation of Chattanooga. Applications are now open, and the deadline to apply is April 24, 2026.

Future Docs is designed to give students a behind-the-scenes look at what a career in healthcare truly looks like. The program brings together aspiring students with local physicians and healthcare professionals for an immersive educational experience that goes beyond what students typically see in the classroom.

The 2026 program will take place June 8–19 and features a unique format that combines clinical shadowing with interactive educational sessions. Students will spend mornings observing physicians and care teams in clinical settings, followed by afternoon sessions focused on topics such as the path to medical school, different specialties, emerging medical technologies, public health, and physician wellness.

Participants will also gain valuable hands-on experience through training opportunities, along with discussions about important healthcare topics including behavioral health and addiction medicine.

Future Docs provides students with an opportunity to:

  • Learn directly from practicing physicians
  • Explore a wide range of medical specialties
  • Gain insight into the realities of medical training and practice
  • Build connections with healthcare leaders in the Chattanooga community

For students considering a future in medicine, the program offers an invaluable opportunity to ask questions, develop mentorship relationships, and better understand the many paths within healthcare.

Space in the program is limited, and interested students are encouraged to apply early.

Applications must be submitted by April 24, 2026.
