Tennessee Workers’ Comp Claims/Payments to Go All Electronic

Tennessee’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is implementing steps to require providers who treat injured workers, as well as workers’ compensation payers, to go all electronic for claims billing and payment in 2018. Draft rules implementing the system will soon be published for comment, but healthcare providers need to ramp up now in order to be in compliance by the deadline, tentatively set for June 1, 2018. Unless a healthcare organization, such as a medical practice, employs 10 or less full-time employees or submits less than 120 bills for workers’ compensation in 2017, compliance will be required.
