At Brown, syllabus covers treating opioid-use disorder

The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is preparing medical students to treat opioid-use disorder by the time they graduate.

The first of its kind program will allow medical students to graduate with the necessary credential to prescribe buprenorphine. Federal law mandates that physicians receive at least 8 hours of training to prescribe buprenorphine.
