Description

This session aims to equip physicians with the knowledge and skills to address clinician burnout at a systemic level. Participants will explore how organizational structures and culture contribute to burnout, evaluate evidence-based interventions that promote wellbeing and professional fulfillment, and develop actionable plans to implement sustainable changes within their own institutions. Additionally, participants will learn strategies to engage and gain support from administrative leadership to effectively drive these initiatives forward.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the system-level contributors to burnout and better understand how organizational structures and cultures impact clinician wellbeing.
  • Evaluate evidence-based, system-level interventions tailored to each domain of burnout and assess their effectiveness in fostering a culture of wellbeing, engagement and professional fulfillment within the organizations.
  • Develop an action plan for implementing sustainable systems-level changes within participants’ own institutions, aligning organizational mission, values and resources with strategies that reduce burnout and promote professional thriving.
  • Discuss ways to engage administration to put solutions in place and ways to obtain buy-in from administrators.
